  • bet u,r fed-up answering this one!!

I,m about to buy my first Smart-(forfour passion 1.5 s/touch) and have heard that there are mods available to smooth out/speed-up gearshifts!--advice PLEASE! Also- can anyone tell me what performance gains fitting the Smart power kit & exhaust gives? OR!!!-are there better upgrades out there?

Re: bet u,r fed-up answering this one!!

i believe the forfour shift is quicker due to a second gear selector in the box, therefore if you are accelerating the next gear up will be selected or visa versa. obviously the ecu will adjust gear changes to your driving style so a consistent agressive driving style will give a later gear change

Not may with turbo's which is the ideal thing for remaps.

I do agree the shift is spot on in the forfour!

I think the diesel forfour will be one of the most modded in the range. Available upgrade now and good performance. If I had the money this is the way I would go. Already chosen wheels and colour combo.

Re: bet u,r fed-up answering this one!!

Does anyone know if there's any physical changes between the 68bhp & 95bhp diesels? I understood (from www.honestjohn.co.uk) that the software is the only difference.

Now a nice forfour in Melon or Flame Red and Silver Trid with softouch & paddles, chipped to 135bhp with BRABUS suspension, that'd be nice. Oh and the BRABUS steering wheel of course.

Please Mr smart, give me a 95bhp diesels forfour as a project car for smartimes. Well you have to try

Nope, the engine is the same in both diesels, it's 3 of the 4 pots from the new A-class 2 litre engine.

The reason I ask is that the pulg in tuning boxes only give about 15-20bhp gain for both, whereas i'd have thought they'd have been able to make the 68bhp up to the 115bhp that a tuning box'd 95 is capable of!
