  • rear blind - does anyone know how to put it on?!

    Hello,

I recent bought a rear-blind from Ebay, to cover the exposed boot, but I can't seem to put the damn thing on...

Anyone got one, or can advise?

    Thanks.
    Ken

    Hello Ken,

I did exactly the same thing with our forfour. What you need to do is this:

    1. in the boot on the left and right you will see 2 black plastic clips on each side.
    2. Remove these clips
    3. remove a small section of the rubber seal so you can pull back the carpet
    4. You will then see a square hole
    5. press in one of the black bungs.
    6. the large black plastic part should the line up with the 2 original holes
    7. screw in place with screws provided.
    8. put rubber seal back on
    9. repeat for the other side.
    10. you will then see how the cover fits onto these supports
    11. The vecro on the cover then goes onto the rear of the seats

I can't take credit for this instructions. Thank you to K12THH from 'the other site'

    Hope this helps Ken.

My rear blind goes to hooks on window, if the one you bought is like mine I will have a close look to see how it is fitted.

Hello, it's sounds great (though a little bit confusing) but it doesn't sound like my car can logically do all of that! Maybe the blind is dodgey?

I will print out this page and give it a good try though. Appreciate the help, thanks.

(I'll post back to let you know if it works!).

No chance,... with my smart, there must be something missing, I can't get it working!!! So frustrating... !!! But, at least it covers the contents of my boot...

I've only got the blind, no other parts!!! I think it must be missing the 2 plastic bit and the screws.

Does the blind have two bars going through it with two velcro flappy bits at one end? If it does then you will need the two fixing brackets to fit it properly. Get in touch with smartypartfast to see if he can just supply you the brackets. I'll try to get some pictures for you to show you what it should look like.

I would go back to smart and check it is the Fourfor rear blind. I had the same problem and it turned out Smart had sold me the Fortwo rear blind which doesn't come with the two plastics bits you mention.

Are you lot talking about the blind that is a roller type for the rear window or the rear parcel shelf???

Mine is a roller. I was quite confused by some posts, doesn't take much to confuse me sometimes !!

                    Thanks all for the suggestions!!

Smarty - just as you suggested, I bought a couple of "brackets" which fitted perfected on the two sides, thanks... cost just under £10.

Only thing was that they didn't come with the screws!
