Rear light cluster confusion...

I'm still confused over this rear light thingy on my forfour...

They should have mono-tone rear lights as standard, but mine doesn't... it's got the multi-colour lights of a pulse/pure... Can someone please clear up my confusion for me? Should my car have tinted rear lenses or not?

was yours ex demo?
if it was then I am afraid it's sold as seen.
if it was bought from 'the book', then as the spec says... it should have the mono colour lights!

It's an ex-SIXT rental car.... If that makes a difference... Bought from Masterdrive (a DCUK owned company)... Of course, the smart dealer I take it to doesn't need to know that does he? Want them changed under warranty or something like that...

hmmmm, to be honest if you didn't order it, then I think you are stuffed.
I suspect there may have been some clause from the rental company to have all their cars fitted with different lenses (safety??).
it can do no harm to ask at smart. :goodlk:

Ahhh fudge it... Can't be arsed in this weather to go argue a point about a 1 year old car... I bought it from masterdrive as seen... So I'll keep it like that, they didn't annoy me till I saw they should have tinted lenses... Now it's bugging me.

£6... no... rear light clusters for a ford focus were nigh on £250 for the pair.

Mono lenses were only fitted up to VIN number B092878, or 11/4/2005. All forfours built after that had the standard lenses.

A pair of mono lenses will cost £130 plus vat, and are available.
