  • Car in 6000 revs before it moves...

    Hey,

I'm having more problems with my car at the moment, just as I'm about to start doing massive commutes as well

It keeps stalling when it's in 1st gear, and keeps not pulling away even in high revs. I had it in 6000 revs yesterday before it would move off (its a manual, dont know if that has anything to do with it?)

Also, today the lock on my driver's door stopped working - every time I tried to close it, it just bounced open again. I ended up having to get a man to properly slam it for me - even then it only shut on the 3rd attempt.

Any idea whats going on here? My car keeps also losing power and drinking petrol, but Smart Lakeside are being really irritating, saying they cant find a fault. Its in again next week for a few days...hope they sort the damn thing out!!

    Nina

PS Should mention these problems also happen however hot/cold the engine is. Steering is also becoming light at high speeds (70mph+) ... is that normal?

I recommend ditching the forfour (it is obviously cursed) and buying a fortwo. I think a cabrio one would be the best choice. Maybe in River Silver.

very odd, could be clutch problem or something wrong with the air/fuel mix

Wow Sparky, you must be telepathic!!

Car has indeed been duly ditched in favour of a cabby river silver fortwo...how did you guess?!

Indeed. I should probably have them back on the car as well. Have you seen my driving?
