Speedo remap

My speedo is in marked in mph and as I live in France I would like to change it to kmh.
I have tried swapping the mph dial for a kmh one which is when I discovered that they were not compatible. The mph dial is also marked in kmh up to 140kmh but in very small numbers which are difficult to read.
I bought a 140kph dial to replace it but find that the dials are set out differently. The mph/kph dial is a linear gauge but the kmh dial is logrithmic (ie the distance between the graduations gets less and less as you go round the dial)
This makes my speedo hopelessly inaccurate.
Does anyone know if it is possible to remap the speedo so it will operate with the kmh dial please?
